JW Francis is an Oklahoma-born musician known for making warm indie-pop songs about his travels. His previous albums have followed strange American corridors, with SUNSHINE tracing the Appalachian Trail and Magic River following the Mississippi River.
He is celebrating the release of his new album Route 66 with a live show and short film screening at DSP Studios. Made after driving the full length of the Mother Road, the album turns that journey into songs about distance, memory, loneliness, and the odd magic of the road.
Heβll also show Open Mind, a short film he made from footage and interviews gathered during the trip. This event will be live streamed as well.
